Asking Opinion

Giving Opinion
-I think (that)…
-In my opinion….
-As I see, …
-If you ask me, I feel…

 Other Examples Asking for Opinion

Those expressions are used to ask for opinions.
-What do you think of this refrigerator?
-So,do you think I should buy those florescent light bulbs?
Other Examples Giving Opinion
 Those expressions are used to give opinions:
-I think the other one’s better.
-In my opinion, you should buy the florescent light bulbs

2. Genre

    Narrative
    Social function: to amuse, entertain and to deal with problematic events which lead to a crisis or turning point of some kind, which in turn finds a resolution.

    Generic structure:
    1. Orientation : sets the scene and introduces the participants.
    2. Evaluation : stepping back to evaluate the plight.
    3. Complication : a crisis arises.
    4. Resolution : the crisis is resolved, for better or for worse.
    5. Reorientation (optional).
