Dear Santi,

Thank you for your letter. Going to KepulauanSeribu for holiday sounds fun. Actually we wanted to go to Bidadari Island but something happened. On the night we were about to leave, our neighbor, Mrs. Rachma, called for help. She is in a wheelchair now.

When my mother and I went to her house, we were socked. The house was very meeey. Her maid just returned to her village and Mrs. Rachma’s ten-year old twin daughters were too sick to clean the house. I helped to give the girls their medicine. I wiped their bodies with wet towels. My father helped vacuum the house. The whole week was spent helping Mrs. Rachma and her family.

That was how I spent the school holidays. My parents said when someone needs our help; we have to help them first. We can always go for a holiday some other time. It was a good experience. I’ll see you soon.

Yours,

Fatma

The Digestive System

Human body is made up of countless millions of cells. Food is needed to build up new cells and replace the worn-out cells. However, the food that we take must be changed into substances that can be carried out in the blood to the places where they are needed. This process is called digestion.

The first digestive process takes place in the mouth. The food we eat is broken up into small pieces by the action of teeth, mixed with saliva, a juice secreted by glands in the mouth. Saliva contains digestive juices which moisten the food, so it can be swallowed easily.

From the mouth, food passes through the esophagus (the food passage) into the stomach for several hours. Then the food enters the small intestine. All the time the muscular walls of the intestine are squeezing, mixing, and moving the food onwards.

Directed by: Gore Verbinski
Released by: Walt Disney Pictures.

In this sequel to the 2003 highly successful film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, you can see everyone’s favorite scoundrel, Captain Jack Sparrow (the brilliant Johnny Deep) trying to weasel out of paying a blood debt owed to the mythical Davy Jones, the captain of the otherworldly ship The Flying Dutchman.
