Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest
Starring: Johnny Deep, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, BillNighy.
Directed by: Gore Verbinski
Released by: Walt Disney Pictures.
In this sequel to the 2003 highly successful film Pirates of the Caribbean: The
Curse of the Black Pearl, you can see everyone’s favorite scoundrel, Captain
Jack Sparrow (the brilliant Johnny Deep) trying to weasel out of paying a blood
debt owed to the mythical Davy Jones, the captain of the otherworldly ship The
Flying Dutchman.
Time is being his biggest enemy, and Sparrow pulls every trick he knows to find
a way to escape the 100 years of servitude owed to Davy Jones. His old friends,
Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) and Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), are once again
sucked into Sparrow’s misadventures.
The success of the first sequel relied on the simple thrill ride charm of a
classic swashbuckler. Unfortunately, this second sequel overextends that charm
without adding anything new other than a long, contrived and rather unnecessary
plot twist.
The only true pleasurable aspect of this film is Depp’s reprise of Sparrow,
which never fails to generate laughs. Without Depp, this film would have simply
drowned in an ocean of redundancy.

Damaged roads
The
number of damaged roads linking Jakarta with West Java has certainly provoked
complaints from locals and road users. Take, for example, the roads in Bekasi
and Tangerang, which have been focus on the media.
The poor condition of these roads not only jeopardizes road safety but also gives
a squalid impression. Moreover, the condition will get worse when it rains. The
roads are transformed into water pools or puddles, which can easily cause
accidents if motorists are not careful.
No
wonder if some people question why there are so many damaged roads and why
repairs do not seem to last long. The government should pay special attention to
these problems.
In my opinion, the roads should be repaired using the right sort of asphalt,
stones, and sands. Repairs should be done carefully so that the roads can be
prevented from constants damaged. Otherwise, the repairs would be useless.
