Pronouns

Definisi

Pronouns (kata ganti) merupakan kata yang digunakan untuk menggantikan kata benda (noun) dalam bahasa Inggris, dan pronouns  terbagi menjadi beberapa macam sesuai dengan fungsinya.

Fungsi dari Pronouns

• Untuk menggantikan orang/benda pada posisi subjek (Subject Pronouns)
• Untuk menggantikan orang/benda pada posisi objek (Object Pronouns)
• Untuk menunjukkan sifat kepemilikan dari suatu benda (Possessive Adjective)
• Sebagai kata ganti kepemilikan (Possessive Pronouns)
• Untuk menjelaskan sesuatu yang dilakukan untuk dirinya sendiri (Reflexive Pronouns)

• Subject Pronouns
  – I love you.

• Objects Pronouns

  – She meets them.
  – I meet you.

• Possessive Adjective
  – It is my hat.
  – It is your hat.
  – It is her hat.
  – Those are their hats.
  – It is his hat.

• Possessive Pronouns
  – This apple is mine.
  – These apples are theirs.
  – This apple is hers.
  – This apple is his.
  – These apples are ours.

• Reflexive Pronouns
  – I pay for myself.
  – They pay for themselves.
  – He pays for himself.
  – We pay for ourselves.
